We start this walking tour at Byrnes’s Cove where male swimmers had been banished to during the late 19th century because of untoward antics.
From there we meander along to George’s Head and on up by Chimney Bay. Fantastic views of Kilkee, the “old Victorian town once known as the Brighton of Ireland”, can be seen from here.
Onwards to the hidden village of Cusheen with all its intrigue and mystery. Like stepping back in time, this little village was all set up to be part of the movie Ryan’s Daughter, however because of directorial differences it never happened. Still it feels like the movies.
